Mobile Drug and Alcohol Tester

We are looking for an early riser who is good with people, independent and available most weekdays for this truly casual role.

The work is truly casual because we test around our client requirements. If the client pre-start is at 6am, that's when we need to be there, or if the shift starts at 2pm, that's when we need to conduct the testing.

In a typical week you will work 20-40 hours, with most of these hours being worked in the mornings. Afternoons are less frequent and evenings are rare. We almost never work weekends.

Your typical day will start at between 5 and 7am at the TDDA clinic where you will pack you gear for the day and depart to site in one of our purpose-built NATA accredited, mobile testing vans.

Travel to site can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 2. 5 hours.

On site, you will often have a supervisor / manager to assist you, but there are also regular occasions where you will announce the testing yourself.

Testing can be completed through the collection of breath, saliva, urine and/or hair samples and is conducted for workplaces, government departments and individuals typically dealing with family disputes.

On return to the clinic, it will be your responsibility to complete job related administration, and to thoroughly clean the van and prepare it for the next technician to use.

Rosters are published in advance taking into account your availability.

What you'll need to provide:

• Good flexibility / availability to work shifts
• Capacity to commit (within reason) to a minimum of 2 years in the role. It takes time to become proficient and familiar with our different clients to tenure is important.
• Capacity to work efficiently and independently, following clearly defined processes, paying strong attention to detail and solving problems and issues logically
• Your own vehicle to travel to and from work at irregular hours (public transport / shared vehicles don't work)
• Manual Australian Driver Licence (or willingness to sit the test to upgrade to a manual licence – simply sit the test)
• Federal Police Check
• White Card – or willingness to attain one
• Clean personal drug record so you can pass your own 3-month hair follicle test

Our experience suggests that this role is particularly suited to candidates with nursing/specimen collection experience, retired police officers, aged / disability support experience and security personnel who no longer want to work nights.
