OBELC is a 36 place purpose build centre that caters to children between 2 - 5 years.

Join a close-knit, child-focused Early Years Centre dedicated to high-quality practice and relationships with families and the local community. This 36 place daycare service, based in Hornsby Heights, is seeking a self-motivated and passionate part-time or full-time ECT, to contribute and bring new ideas to the planning and implementation of the educational program within Preschool age group.

The service has a very team-inspired focus and everyone shares the responsibilities for observations, portfolio writing, and programming. Each educator's ideas are valued and a collaborative and supportive attitude is essential. The service is very homely, with wooden resources and impressive outdoor playing space.

About the role

We are looking for an ECT who wants to make a difference in the children's lives. This role will also include the Educational Leader role (mentoring can be provided for those withouth EL experience). Someone who is passionate about providing quality care and education, and who recognises the importance of the environment as the third teacher.

To be successful in this role you should have a natural curiosity of the world which enables you to create interesting and meaningful programs and play spaces for children; be flexible and understanding, and work well in a supportive team environment.

This role has the potential to become a dual ECT and Educational Leader role for a candidate who shows passion, demonstrates a deep understanding of early childhood development.

You will be responsible for:

· The development of the curriculum in conjunction with your team members - programming and planning and ensuring all educators contribute to the curriculum

· Setting up the environments – both indoors and outdoors, to spark wonder and curiosity

· Assisting and mentoring fellow educators

· Engaging in consistent reflection on your practice, as well as the centre policies and practices

Essential criteria:

· An Early Childhood Teaching degree or ACECQA approved equivalent qualification

· A current NSW Working with Children Check

· Work rights to enable you to work in Australia

· Strong English speaking and writing skills

· A current first aid certificate, CPR and asthma, and anaphylaxis training

· Ability to demonstrate a solid understanding of the National Quality Framework, The Early Years Learning Framework, Child Protection legislation and implications, Code of Ethics, WHS legislation, Educational and Care Services National Law and Education and Care Services National Regulations

· Demonstrated ability and strong skills in planning, research, and pedagogical documentation

· Ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and educators
