Wildlife Wranglers, the mobile wildlife education arm of Howling Husky Park, is on the lookout for a dedicated Dog Kennel & Wildlife Keeper to join our close-knit team. This exciting 6-month full time fixed-term role offers the chance to work with wildlife, farm animals, and dogs – including our beloved huskies from Howling Husky Sled Dog Tours.

About You:

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about wildlife, animals, education, and husbandry.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and a confident speaker/communicator.
  • Highly organised, reliable, and adaptable to changing conditions.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 20kg unassisted.
  • Positive, self-motivated, and ready to take on new challenges.

Essential Requirements:
  • Full driver's license.
  • Current Police Check and a Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain one).
  • Experience working with native animals and reptiles.
  • Comfortable handling dogs, including working breeds such as huskies and kelpies.
  • Previous experience in wildlife education or animal husbandry.
  • Willingness to work weekends, public holidays, and occasional evenings.
  • Background or training towards animal science, zoology or a related field (desirable).

Your Responsibilities:
  • Animal husbandry - include but not limited to, care, feeding, cleaning, and record-keeping for a range of animals and wildlife.
  • Support live animal and wildlife presentations at schools, events, and festivals.
  • Engage with guests during encounters, animal experiences, and front-of-house duties at events.
  • Help with enclosure maintenance and development.
  • Contribute to wildlife monitoring projects – including trapping, data collection, and reporting.
  • Travel regularly from our East Gippsland base to Melbourne and beyond.
