Bethanie is a leading not for profit aged care provider based in
Western Australia. For over 70 years, we have been empowering
ageing Australians to lead their most meaningful lives by
recognising 'old age' as a positive force in society
and giving a voice to those who have seen it all and live to tell
the tale.

We are currently seeking an experienced Kitchen
Hand to join the team providing support services at
Bethanie Como Aged Care Home. Bethanie Como is a 99 bed luxury
facility that provides a full range of aged care services with a
focus on allied health support and personalised care.

This is a permanent part-time role working the
following shift pattern:

  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday
  • Week 2: Monday, Tuesday & Thursday

To be successful in this role, you will have experience or an
interest in food preparation and be of a friendly nature, as
interaction with our residents is core to our culture. You may also
have the opportunity to be trained in and work across the roles of
Domestic Assistant / Cleaner and Laundry Assistant.

About You

  • Possess a passion for or previous experience working as a
    Kitchen Hand, ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar
    environment
  • Have a 'can do' attitude and a genuine
    compassion for our residents
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a
    team
  • Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The
    Bethanie Group
  • Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening (or willingness to apply for
    one)

The Role

  • Ensuring responsible work practices of food preparation,
    kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards
  • Ensuring required ingredients are available daily
  • Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals
  • Maintaining all utensils, equipment, work benches and
    general surrounds in a clean and safe condition
  • Collecting and washing pots, pans, crockery and
    cutlery
