Job Description

Are you an experienced and skilled Bricklayer looking for an opportunity to showcase your expertise? Jannelle Pty Ltd trading as Structured Group is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team and contribute to high-quality masonry projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Study plans and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures.
  • Erect and dismantle restricted height scaffolding as required.
  • Seal foundations with damp-resistant materials to ensure structural integrity.
  • Spread layers of mortar using trowels to create a strong base and binder for blocks.
  • Lay bricks in precise rows, designs, and shapes, ensuring proper mortar application between joints.
  • Embed blocks in mortar, removing excess to maintain clean, professional finishes.
  • Check vertical and horizontal alignment to ensure structural accuracy.
  • Cut, shape, and polish stones and bricks using hand tools and machinery.
  • Shape bricks to fit irregular spaces and create custom masonry designs.
  • Repair and maintain existing brickwork, cement blocks, and related structures.
  • Design and cut monumental masonry, including lettering and decorative elements.
  • Construct walls using stone slabs and large masonry blocks to create durable structures.

Requirements:

  • AQF Certificate III (including at least two years of on-the-job training) OR AQF Certificate IV required.
  • Proven experience as a bricklayer or relevant qualification in masonry.
  • Strong understanding of building plans, materials, and installation procedures.
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and masonry machines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor in various conditions.
