Barista – Job Description Position Summary

As a Barista at Batch, you are responsible for delivering consistently excellent coffee and customer experiences. You'll represent the brand by combining skill, speed, and professionalism with warmth and hospitality. This role requires attention to detail, passion for coffee, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Coffee Preparation & Quality

  • Prepare and serve espresso, filter, and specialty beverages to Batch standards.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, temperature, and presentation.
  • Calibrate grinders and maintain equipment throughout service.
  • Uphold high standards of milk texturing and latte art.
  • Follow recipes and portion control guidelines precisely.

Customer Service

  • Provide friendly, professional, and efficient service to every customer.
  • Engage customers with product knowledge, including coffee origins, tasting notes, and brewing methods.
  • Manage orders quickly and accurately during peak periods.
  • Resolve customer concerns calmly and positively.

Teamwork & Operations

  • Work collaboratively with fellow baristas, front of house, and kitchen teams.
  • Assist with training and mentoring new team members when required.
  • Follow opening, closing, and shift change procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station and café.
  • Restock supplies and communicate low items to management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 – $68,000.00 per year
