About OzHarvest:

OzHarvest is a leading food rescue organisation on a mission to 'Nourish our Country' by stopping good food from going to waste and delivering it to charities that help feed people in need. Through our education programs and our advocacy work, we hope to inspire others to change their behaviour and help reach the national target of halving food waste by 2030.

About the role:

Are you passionate about supporting those facing food insecurity and making a real difference in your community? OzHarvest is looking for Community Workers to join our team in Sydney (Waterloo Market & Refettorio), where you'll play a key role in promoting food security, social inclusion, and empowering individuals in need.

What You'll Do:

  • Build positive relationships with guests, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported
  • Advocate for food security by understanding the root causes of food insecurity and connecting individuals with essential services
  • Support diverse populations, including those facing homelessness, mental health challenges, and trauma
  • Work alongside a dedicated team and volunteers to create a safe, inclusive, and dignified environment for all

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in social work, community services, or a similar frontline role
  • Certificate III in Social Work, Community Services or similar (must have)
  • A strong commitment to OzHarvest's values of compassion, integrity, and collaboration
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to handle diverse needs with sensitivity
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage challenging situations with care
  • Valid Police check & WWCC
