Saint Ignatius' College Riverview is a Catholic boys' school in the Jesuit tradition. Located on picturesque grounds in Lane Cove, this leading independent school delivers a holistic education for day and boarding students from Years 5 to 12.
Our Regis campus is looking for a passionate primary teacher with Visual Arts experience to join our primary precinct. The Teacher – Visual Arts will be responsible for teaching Years 5 and 6 visual arts lessons and co-curricular activities such as Art club and demonstrate a strong understanding and passion of the Visual Arts curriculum and Catholic education. The ideal candidate will be experienced in primary education and demonstrate skills in various artmaking forms and have a strong understanding of Visual Arts primary curriculum. They should inspire students, bring innovative ideas, demonstrate expertise in classroom management, excellence in knowledge of NSW curriculum, and be able to differentiate curriculum to cater to different learning styles. Additionally, the teacher must ensure professional compliance, deliver a high standard of quality teaching experiences that develop students into extraordinary learners.
The position is part-time (3 days a week, 0.6 FTE), max-term contract for Semester
ABOUT YOU
- accredited with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) to be eligible to teach in NSW.
- be an outstanding classroom teacher of Stage 3 (Year 5 and 6) visual arts
- possess excellent communication skills and easily form positive relationships
- exhibit superb organisational skills, allowing you to cooperatively plan with other teachers to manipulate and interpret school data from a range of sources
- demonstrate experience in implementing Positive Behaviour learning systems in a primary school context to manage student behaviour
- have a high level of skill in planning, organising, implementing, and supporting engaging classroom programs that align with best practice 21st Century pedagogy
- be committed to collaborative teaching and learning practices to increase student engagement particularly in a stage 3 context
- demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
- demonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to the Mission and Values of the College
- be willing to contribute to the co-curriculum programs at the College
- hold a current Working with Children Check and be committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety, welfare and well-being of children and young people.
