Lead Boilermaker/Rigger

Are you a highly skilled Boilermaker/Rigger with proven experience acting as a Leading Hand in structural steel erection projects? Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated tradesperson to take on a pivotal role within our site team.

The Role:

This is a critical, hands-on leadership position on site, responsible for the safe and efficient installation of large-scale structural steelwork. You will be utilising your full trade expertise to not only fabricate and rig but also to supervise and direct your team to ensure the highest standards of quality and project delivery are maintained.

Essential Requirements:

• Structural Steel Expertise: Extensive and demonstrable background in the installation and erection of heavy structural steel within industrial or commercial environments.
• Leading Hand Experience: Substantial, verifiable experience in managing, instructing, and leading site personnel, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and programme deadlines.
• Site Set-Out Competency: Expert ability to accurately set out complex sites and structures from engineering drawings using appropriate surveying equipment (e.g., total station, laser level).
• Full Trade Qualification: Hold a recognised and current trade certification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) in Welding, Fabrication, or Boilermaking.

• Mandatory Tickets & Certification:

• Boom 11+

• White Card
• Intermediate Rigger – Must Have.
• Current First Aid.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpreting architectural and engineering drawings and executing precise site set-out.
• Supervising the lifting, positioning, and fastening (rigging and erection) of all structural steel members.
• Carrying out high-quality welding and fabrication duties as required including variations.
• Ensuring all site work is conducted safely and in strict compliance with HSE regulations and company policies.
• Liaising with the Site Manager and Project Management team to ensure the project remains on schedule.
