For this role, previous experience in the shipping industry is desirable, particularly in forestry and /or marshalling- but not essential.

The role:

Vessel Agency/ Stowage Planning

  • Inform all relevant stakeholders regularly about vessel itineraries and update sailing schedules as needed.

  • Prepare, review, and adjust stowage plans to ensure maximum uplift & safety of vessel.

  • Resolve and coordinate terminal issues during loading operations (e.g., IT issues, vessel delays, congestion, crane defects).

  • Monitor the vessel throughout the full rotation to optimize stowage at each port.

  • Liaise with the Captain/ vessel officers to ensure all vessel requirements are met.

  • Prepare and send daily loading updates to key stakeholders

  • Prepare and send final reports & stowage plans to principals and vessels.

Authorised officer inspector

  • Inspecting empty bulk vessels for export compliance and completing correct documentation.

  • Inspecting commodities for export compliance and completing correct documentation.

Requirements/ selection criteria:

· Intermediate MS Office skills (MS Excel skills highly regarded)

· Must be able to pass Australian police check

· Must be able to pass medical assessment

· Valid Australian Driver's license

· High levels of organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills

· Reliable team player and ability to work autonomously

· Currently holds (or is eligible to obtain) a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)

· Industry knowledge and experience within forestry, shipping or marshalling is preferred but not essential. On the job training is provided for our systems & procedures relevant to the role.

· Be prepared for out-of-hours and weekend work to ensure task completion.

· Willing to travel on occasion.
