Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Emergency, Paediatric or General Practitioner Registrars to join the VVED as part of our casual workforce.
About Northern Health:
The growing strain on emergency departments worldwide has given rise to innovative approaches in patient assessment and care management. The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated the pressure on EDs resulting in access block, prolonged wait times, and overcrowding. At Northern Health, we responded by pioneering an alternative care model that leverages video technology to provide efficient emergency care. In 2022, this transitioned to a state-wide service now seeing on average in excess of 800 patients per day through self-referral and health care professional pathways such as Ambulance Victoria, Urgent Care Centre and Residential Aged Care Facilities. At the VVED, we see our Registrars as a valuable cohort now and in the future to help deliver exceptional patient outcomes to the people of Victoria.

About the Role:

• Practice Evidence-Based Medicine: Work in a supportive environment where you can apply the latest evidence-based medical practices.
• Multi-Disciplinary Support: Collaborate with a diverse team of medical professionals who are as passionate as you are.
• Emphasis on Alternative Treatment: Learn to manage patients effectively using innovative treatment options.
• Expand Your Horizons: Gain insights into healthcare systems beyond your local area, understand referral pathways, and explore community-based services.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Experience in delivering exceptional patient-centred care.
• Ability to be agile using technology to provide medical support to patients and their families
• Demonstrated a collaborative approach to patient care
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
• At least 5+ years PGY experience
• Registered with either RACGP, RACP or ACEM as a trainee
