As a member of our Visual Arts team, you will teach in our vibrant Visual Arts Centre, surrounded by creativity, collaboration and curiosity. You will join a passionate team committed to supporting each student to explore, experiment and find their visual voice in a rapidly evolving world.

The opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior School Visual Arts & Communications Teacher to join our team in Term 1, 2026 on a part-time (0.7 FTE), fixed-term basis.

You'll play a key role in fostering creative and critical thinking, providing opportunities for students to explore diverse artistic and cultural perspectives, and equipping them with the skills to confidently express their ideas through visual language.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging, innovative learning experiences in Visual Arts and Communications
  • Inspire and challenge students through a contemporary and inclusive curriculum and learning programs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop dynamic learning programs and cross-disciplinary projects
  • Use digital tools and technologies to enhance artistic expression and student engagement
  • Provide meaningful feedback and encourage self-reflection to promote student growth
  • Foster respectful, supportive relationships with students, staff, and families

The successful applicant will demonstrate

  • Experience teaching visual arts and communications at the secondary school level
  • Proficiency in the use of digital tools and creative technologies to enhance student learning
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build genuine connections with students, parents and staff
  • Passion, enthusiasm and motivation to nurture creativity, curiosity and a love of learning
  • Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration and right to live and work in Australia
