We're looking for an experienced Leading Hand / Final Trim Loader Operator to join civil projects across Capel and the wider South West. You'll lead a small crew on site and deliver high-quality final trim outcomes on the loader across subdivisions, roadworks and general civils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day site activities: coordinate tasks, set pace and quality, and keep the crew aligned to plan.
  • Operate loaders to final trim: road base prep, house pad trimming, batters, verges and load-out.
  • Read plans/levels, work to stringline/laser (GPS experience highly regarded).
  • Work safely around services (water, power, comms) and ensure best-practice controls.
  • Complete pre-starts, JHAs/SWMS, basic daily maintenance and quality checks.
  • Liaise with supervisors, subcontractors and truck drivers to keep production on track.
  • Support general civils as required (spotting, backfilling, traffic/pedestrian interfaces).

What We Need From You

  • Strong civils background (subdivisions/roadworks/earthworks) with proven Leading Hand experience.
  • Demonstrated final trim proficiency on a loader (house pads/road base to spec).
  • Confident working around services and reading plans/levels.
  • Current White Card and relevant plant tickets/VOCs (Loader essential; Excavator/Skid Steer a bonus).
  • Valid driver's licence (HR desirable), reliable transport.
  • Solid communication, safety focus, and ability to drive crew performance.
  • Availability for consistent weekday hours with occasional Saturdays when required.
