About the role

Kiddie Academy is seeking a full-time Cook/Kitchen hand to join our team in Mudgee, NSW. As a Cook/Kitchenhand, you will play a vital role in supporting the preparation and delivery of high-quality meals and snacks for the children in our care. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing and development of young learners in a nurturing and rewarding environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting our high volume catering team with the preparation, cooking and presentation of healthy, nutritious meals and snacks
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment
  • Ensuring all food handling and storage practices comply with relevant health and safety standards
  • Restocking and managing kitchen supplies and inventory
  • Providing excellent customer service to children, parents and fellow team members
  • Contributing to a positive and collaborative work culture

What we're looking for

  • Previous commercial kitchen or catering experience as a cook/kitchen hand or in a similar roll
  • Fundamental culinary skills and allergy awareness, is an advantage
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team in a fast paced, structured environment
  • Passion for providing high-quality care and nurturing the development of young children
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Aspirations to learn and grow
