ABOUT US - MWP Building Solutions (Part of MWP Community Care)

As a Licensed Carpenter or Experienced Handyman, you'll work closely with the Building Services Manager, other qualified tradespeople, and our support team to deliver a variety of tasks, including:

  • Home modifications (handrails, ramps, step alterations, minor bathroom modifications)
  • Maintenance and repair works inside and outside the home
  • Construction of decks, pergolas, stairs and structural repairs
  • General residential carpentry and joinery
  • Small concrete jobs
  • General handyman services and property maintenance

You will often work directly with older clients, so a respectful, patient, and client-focused approach is essential.

This is a full-time role (Monday to Friday, 7:30am--3:30pm), with a company vehicle provided for all work travel and commuting to/from home.

Requirements

For Licensed Carpenter applicants:

  • Certificate III in Carpentry (or equivalent experience)
  • NSW Carpentry Contractor's Licence (or eligible)
  • Minimum of 3 years' hands-on residential carpentry experience

For Experienced Handyman applicants:

  • Minimum of 5 years' proven experience in residential maintenance and repairs
  • Demonstrated competency across multiple trades (carpentry, general repairs, minor plumbing/electrical awareness)
  • Trade qualification or relevant certifications highly regarded

All applicants must have:

  • Current NSW C Class Driver's Licence
  • Own tools and equipment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • A genuine interest in supporting older people to live safely and independently
  • Experience working in aged care, disability or community housing is highly regarded
  • A current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one) is required
  • Australian permanent residency status is required for this position
