About the role
We're searching for experienced and compassionate Home Care Support Workers to assist older clients in the community. You'll play a key role in helping clients remain independent in their own homes, supporting their dignity, safety, and quality of life. We have shifts available based on client demand, Monday – Friday, 6am – 6pm.
Duties will include:
- Providing personal care support such as showering, grooming, and personal hygiene
- Supporting with meal preparation, household cleaning, laundry, and ironing
- Assisting with shopping, medical appointments, and social outings
- Monitoring and reporting any changes in a client's health or behaviour, escalating concerns to ensure safety
- Delivering care in line with individual Care Plans and maintaining accurate documentation
- Travelling between client homes within your local service area including Carlingford, Ryde, Eastwood, Macquarie Park and Gladesville
Skills and Requirements
- Current driver's licence and reliable car with comprehensive insurance
- Certificate III, IV or Diploma in Aged Care, Home Care, Disability, or related field
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Clear verbal communication skills to engage effectively with older clients
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
- Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care
- Flexibility in hours and approach, with availability aligned to client needs
- Ability to review and accurately document care plans
- Experience using mobility aids and assisting with client hoisting (advantageous)
