About the Role
The main aspects of the Underground Auto Electrician role are to work within the Underground Mobile Maintenance team to maintain the fleet of Underground Mobile Equipment, with some time also to be spent maintaining a fleet of Surface Heavy Equipment, with opportunities to work within the Light Vehicle Team on various equipment. As an Underground Auto Electrician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of our fleet, working in both a breakdown and planned maintenance capacity. The key functions provided by the Underground Auto Electrician role include:
- Complete allocated maintenance tasks and carry out breakdowns and diagnosis to a high standard, while working safely both independently and as part of a team
- Follow documented maintenance procedures and instructions
- Operate mobile equipment, light vehicles and ancillary equipment
- Undertake housekeeping and inspections
- Participate in prestarts and other operational meetings as required
- Undertake training as required to gain new skills
- Take personal responsibility for helping the team achieve expected results by doing what is required and taking timely actions within the scope of competence
- Work with computer systems including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, 1SAP and FIORI
About You
- Experience working in a maintenance team will be highly desirable
- C Class drivers licence essential, HR is desirable
- Forklift HRWL desirable, or willing to obtain
- Experience working on Underground Mobile Equipment including Sandvik, Caterpillar, Normet, Volvo and Epiroc
- Previous mining experience is essential, with Underground experience desirable
- Ability to demonstrate a knowledge in safe work practices
- Great communication and time management skills
- Demonstrated team player
- Basic computer skills
- Willingness to work in multiple environments including surface and underground Workshops and between multiple work locations and sites
