What you'll be doing

To complete in one year a Traineeship as a Dental Assistant by undertaking a Certificate III via distance education and provide chair side assistance to dental clinicians and support to the dental team.

Selection Criteria

1. Demonstrated ability and willingness to undertake Certificate III in Dental Assisting.
2. Willingness to observe and assist with clinical procedures (such as tooth extraction and oral surgery).
3. High level of motivation, the ability to follow instructions and to learn new skills.
4. Good manual dexterity.
5. Effective communications skills, both with adults and children.
6. Ability to work harmoniously in a team environment at all times.
7. Capacity to always maintain confidentiality.
8. Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Word and electronic communication tools, and to learn dental software programs.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases

This is a Category 'A' position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
