Tasks & responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive vehicle diagnostics, identifying issues accurately and promptly.
  • Repair and maintain a variety of vehicles, including cars, 4WDs, and light trucks.
  • Lead and take ownership of assigned jobs in the workshop, ensuring quality control and efficiency.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Liaise with the service advisor and customers to provide updates on vehicle progress and repairs.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance, including brake, suspension, and tyre services.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
  • Stay up to date with industry standards and best practices, including new vehicles

Qualifications & experience

  • Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light Vehicle) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a similar role within the automotive industry.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of the work.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Current valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role (desirable but not essential).
