HR Adviser

Join our team as an HR Adviser, providing practical, hands-on support and expert guidance to leaders and employees across site. Reporting to the HR Superintendent, this is a key role focused on employee relations, performance management, and fostering a positive and engaged workplace culture.
What you'll be doing
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR and ER/IR matters, providing accurate advice and interpretation of the Enterprise Agreement, policies, and procedures.
- Guide and support leaders through performance management, grievance, investigation, and disciplinary processes with fairness and consistency.
- Guide our front-line leaders in performance management for compliance and procedural fairness and integrity and aid in the preparation and review employment-related documents such as warnings, show cause letters, investigation outcomes, and termination correspondence.
- Provide coaching to supervisors and line leaders on effective people management and application of ER/IR best practice.
- Partner with leaders to strengthen engagement, culture, and communication across site.
- Play an active role in camp committees, workforce engagement initiatives, and onsite communications to promote a positive workplace culture.
- Manage a mix of approximately 80% reactive and operational HR/ER matters with 20% strategic project work, collaborating closely with the HR Superintendent
What you'll bring
- Tertiary qualifications in HR, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in HR/ER/IR within mining, heavy industry, or civil construction environments.
- Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and enterprise agreement interpretation.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations cases and providing pragmatic advice to leaders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — confident, approachable, and solutions-focused.
- A collaborative and adaptable mindset, with the ability to balance daily operational support with longer-term improvement initiatives.
