Berala Public School is situated in the Chullora Network of Schools. We support the learning of approximately 662 students including 21 students in an Inclusive Education Unit. Our enrolment profile includes 97% of students with a language background other than English with our main language backgrounds being Chinese and Arabic. Our Chinese and Arabic community language program supports students in maintaining and developing competence in their home languages. Our school promotes diversity and inclusion with over 60 nationalities represented at the school.
Our school enjoys strong community interest, involvement and support. Parental involvement is highly valued, and the Parents and Citizens' Association plays a vital role through working in authentic partnership with the school to support school programs and improve educational outcomes for all students. We have a small number of First Nations students who are supported by a committed whole school approach to First Nations education, cultural awareness and inclusion.

Selection Criteria- Approval to teach Primary Library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
- Successful experience delivering ICT support across the school and integrating innovative technology into all learning areas K-6
- Demonstrated ability to manage student behaviour, engagement, and wellbeing in the library by establishing clear expectations, promoting positive behaviour for learning principles.
- Proven communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills to work collaboratively and build authentic relationships across the school community by implementing whole-school events and programs aligned with the teacher librarian role.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
