Role Description

This is a
part-time/casual, on-site role
for an
IBDP/MYP Chinese Tutor (SL/HL)
based in
Mount Waverley, VIC
.

The successful candidate will:

• Deliver engaging and effective lessons aligned with the
  IBDP and MYP Chinese curriculum
  .
• Provide academic support and exam preparation strategies tailored to IB students across different year levels.
• Clarify complex language and literature concepts while fostering deep cultural and linguistic understanding.
• Support students in developing strong reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
• Conduct regular progress evaluations and maintain clear communication with students and families.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in teaching
  IBDP and/or MYP Chinese (SL/HL)
  or equivalent senior-level Chinese curriculum.
• Strong command of
  Mandarin
  and thorough understanding of
  IB assessment criteria
  .
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and families.
• Ability to design and adapt lesson plans to suit diverse learning needs and goals.
• Prior tutoring or teaching experience in
  IB Chinese
  preferred but not essential.
• Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  – mandatory for all tutors.
• VIT Registration
  – required only for qualified teachers (replaces WWCC).
• Strong academic background (e.g. high IB/ATAR score, university degree in Chinese, Education, or related field).
• Commitment to child safety and maintaining professional standards.
• ABN required
  if working as an independent contractor.
