Our District's Oral Health (Dental) services are provided to eligible patients at the following locations: Nepean Centre for Oral Health, Blue Mountains Hospital Dental Clinic, Hawkesbury Dental Clinic, and the Lithgow Hospital Dental Clinic. The team offers public dental services including diagnosis, restorative and preventative treatments, pain relief and dentures.
Are you a skilled dental professional ready to take the lead in shaping oral health services across the Blue Mountains and Lithgow regions? We're seeking a dedicated Dental Officer to join our team, based at both Blue Mountains Hospital in Katoomba and Lithgow Hospital.
In this senior clinical role, you'll deliver high quality patient care and oral health education to eligible patients within the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. You'll provide clinical leadership and coordinate services at our dental facilities, while mentoring and supervising junior dental officers, oral health therapists, and support staff.
This role also involves managing service delivery, ensuring infection control standards are upheld, maintaining data quality, and fostering clear communication across the team. You'll contribute to training and continuing education initiatives, and support general duties that keep our services running smoothly and effectively.

What you will bring to the role
- Registered or registrable by mutual recognition, as a Dentist, with the Dental Board of Australia.
 - Demonstrated exceptional competence in general dentistry.
 - Highly advanced skills in managing most of the difficult clinical situations, complex medical histories and those with disabilities.
 - A proven record for carrying out a broad range of complex and advanced dental procedures on child and adult patients.
 - Demonstrated ability to exercise advanced clinical reasoning skills.
 - A demonstrated ability to work within and provide leadership for a large and diverse dental team.
 - Excellent oral and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with a range of individuals including the general public.
 - Demonstrated experience in structured mentoring programs of other clinical staff and / or the training of dental students.
