About us

Precut Engineering is a medium sized structural steel processing company looking for full-time CNC Machine Operator for Structural Steel Production to join our friendly and hardworking team in Victoria.

Position Required for afternoon shift:

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operator for Structural Steel Production to join our team and ensure the timely completion of our projects. As a CNC Machine Operator, you will be responsible for programming, preparing and safely operating Voortman machine.

Task / Responsibilities include.

  • Upload the correct Programe into machine.
  • Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate any numbers of parts.
  • Monitor the machine while executing the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
  • Check and maintain machine daily to ensure functionality.
  • Create and implement routine maintenance checklists and perform basic troubleshooting when required and recording any breakdowns.
  • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
  • Daily communication with manager/supervisor and others to ensure operational objectives are met.
  • Material stock and off cut management.
  • Work in a safe manner and safely handle materials and equipment of various sorts.
  • Loading and unloading of Structural Steel using a forklift.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Previous experience operating Voortman machine is favorable however not essential as on the job training will be provided.
  • Familiarity with interpreting CNC software.
  • Good mechanical aptitude with an understanding of machining processes.
  • Ability to work schedule and meet productions targets.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and mechanical documents procedures.
  • Ability to work as a team and or individually as required.
  • Must be available for Afternoon shift work and overtime if required.
  • Australian forklift license.
