Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Rokt Full time $100,000 - $150,000 per year
We are Rokt, a hyper-growth ecommerce leader.

Rokt is a global leader in ecommerce, unlocking real-time relevance in the moment that matters most. Rokt's AI Brain and ecommerce Network powers 7.5 billion+ transactions per year for hundreds of millions of customers, and is trusted to do this by the world's leading companies.

We are a team of builders helping smart businesses find innovative ways to meet customer needs and generate incremental revenue. Leading companies drive 10-50% of additional revenue—and often all their profits—from the extra products or services they sell. This economic edge unleashes a world of possibilities for growth and innovation.

We are looking for a Junior/Mid-Level Software Engineer

At Rokt, we practice transparency in career paths and compensation. We have a well-defined career ladder with transparent compensation and clear career paths based on competency and ability.

Target compensation will be a fixed annual salary of $100,000 - $150,000 (including superannuation) + employee equity grant plan, and world-class benefits.

Equity grants are issued in good faith, subject to company policies, board approval, and individual eligibility.

The Role

We are building a team that protects the trust and integrity of our network. As part of the Network Integrity group, you will contribute to projects that ensure the authenticity and quality of the data powering our machine learning systems and client outcomes.

This is an opportunity for entry-level/early career professionals designed to help you grow as an engineer while contributing to meaningful work. You will learn from experienced colleagues and gain hands-on exposure to challenges such as fraud detection, invalid traffic mitigation, and incident response.

No prior experience in network security or fraud prevention is required. You will be supported as you build your skills while working on projects like:

  • Identifying unusual traffic patterns using user-agent analysis and IP reputation scoring, and utilising AI tech to protect the Rokt Network
  • Helping design systems that filter out invalid/fraudulent traffic and protect the quality of data signals
  • Supporting incident response processes to contain and mitigate threats
  • Exploring new approaches such as Proof-of-Work checks and closed-loop event validation
  • Gaining hands on experience coding in modern backend programming languages, working on AWS microservices in a distributed-systems architecture.

This is a chance to develop your craft while working on systems that make a real impact on clients and end users.

Requirements

What you'll do

  • Contribute to the design and development of systems that help detect and reduce invalid traffic and fraud
  • Work closely with senior engineers to implement foundational protections, including IP reputation, rate limiting, and anomaly detection
  • Support the creation of runbooks and tools that enable quick and clear responses to threats
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data scientists, learning from experienced mentors while contributing your own ideas
  • Build your skills in AI/ML integration, large-scale data pipelines, and network security practices while contributing to projects that create measurable value

Who you are

  • You are curious and motivated to learn new skills, tools, and approaches to engineering
  • You enjoy contributing to team-based problem solving, approaching challenges with creativity and persistence
  • You thrive in collaborative environments, value open communication, and seek out opportunities to share ideas and learn from others
  • You care about the impact of your work, whether it is protecting clients from fraud, ensuring data quality, or improving efficiency across systems
Why Join Rokt?
