About the role

Immakulate Constructions is seeking a motivated Construction Estimator to join our team in Warragul, VIC. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for pursuing and preparing accurate and detailed cost estimate proposals for a variety of commercial and residential construction projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Analyse project plans, specifications and other documentation to develop comprehensive cost estimates
  • Acquiring, monitoring, and pursing tender opportunities
  • Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to incorporate into estimates
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to refine estimates and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Maintain detailed records of all estimate-related information, projections and calculations
  • Attend site inspections and provide support to the bidding process by preparing competitive proposals and engaging with key stakeholders
  • Monitor project costs during the construction phase and recommend adjustments as needed
  • Continuously research new materials, methods and technologies to improve the estimating process
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with both subcontractors, suppliers and clients
  • Pursue business development opportunities with prospective and existing clients
  • Working in with management team to generate proposals for projects
  • Material procurement and supplier relationship growth and development

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and industry regulations
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and drawings
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills to develop accurate cost estimates
  • Familiarity with construction estimating software such as Buildxact
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively
  • Most possess a high level of attention to detail, motivation to work independently, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Commercial tender experience is desired
