About us

We are a bustling, doctor-owned, mixed-billing, general practice in Ipswich. Our practice has been providing service and exceptional medical care to the Ipswich community and surrounds for over 100 years. We pride ourselves in quality, comprehensive, evidence-based medicine. We have sixteen doctors, three nurses and six receptionists at our practice, and cover a range of sub-specialties. We value integrity, professionalism and team-work in our practice. We are looking for experienced, casual medical receptionists to join our growing practice. This position has flexible hours and would suit a recent school leaver or current university student. A successful candidate will have a calm demeanor, excel in respectful communication, be resilient and ready for a challenge.

Qualifications & experience

  • Medical administration experience highly valued but not essential
  • Familiarity with general practice IT software and medicare billing highly valued but not essential
  • Experience in a fast paced environment

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Welcome and check-in patients
  • Answer phone and direct incoming calls
  • Book and confirm patient appointments
  • Private and MBS Billing
  • Coordinate health assessment and vaccination clinic documentation
  • Open and close clinic, including cleaning doctors' rooms
  • Place stationary orders
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing correspondence
  • Liaise with doctors to provide administration support
  • Maintain and facilitate relationships with third parties, such as hospital specialists
