The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced and self-motivated Registered Tax Agent to join our growing team on a flexible, casual basis. This is a senior role perfect for a seasoned professional looking for a work-life balance that a traditional 9-5 can't offer. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, providing high-level technical advice, and ensuring all compliance obligations are met with precision and care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review complex income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships.
  • Provide strategic and proactive tax planning advice to a diverse client base.
  • Manage all aspects of client compliance, including BAS, FBT, and superannuation obligations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for your client portfolio, building strong, lasting relationships through exceptional communication.
  • Liaise directly with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) to resolve client matters.
  • Stay current with all relevant Australian taxation laws and ATO rulings to ensure best-practice advice.
  • Work autonomously to manage your workflow and meet lodgement deadlines effectively.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a true expert in your field. You are not just a number-cruncher; you are a proactive advisor and a brilliant communicator.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in a public practice accounting role within Australia.
  • Must be a Registered Tax Agent with the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).
  • CA or CPA qualification is mandatory.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; you can explain complex tax concepts in a clear, simple manner.
  • Deep, technical knowledge of current Australian taxation laws and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage your own time in a remote setting.
  • A proactive and client-centric mindset, always looking for ways to add value.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
