Job Title: Systems Engineer

Location: Melbourne [3 days onsite, 2 WFH]

Type: 4-month contract = Part-time (3x a week)

The Opportunity

This opportunity is with a well-known digital entertainment and technology business operating across multiple international markets. They are known for their real-time, high-availability platforms and continue to invest heavily in their cloud infrastructure and automation capabilities. The environment is fast-paced, engineering-led, and driven by modern DevOps principles.

You'll be part of a six-person internal systems team supporting a global user base. This specific role will work closely with a senior engineer based in Canada, focused on both business-as-usual support and strategic project delivery.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and improve the Azure and hybrid infrastructure environment
  • Develop scripts and tooling to automate infrastructure tasks and reduce manual overhead
  • Support and contribute to the delivery of a business-critical RBAC project
  • Assist with the development of internal operations bots and infrastructure automation
  • Split time between day-to-day operations and high-impact project delivery

What You'll Bring

  • Strong background in systems engineering within mid-to-large scale environments
  • Deep experience with Azure, infrastructure automation, and scripting [PowerShell or Python]
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling, and RBAC best practices
  • Comfortable working across time zones and in a globally distributed team
  • Ability to operate autonomously while contributing to wider team goals
