About the role:

Jamestrong Packaging is a leading packaging supplier to some of the region's most recognisable brands. We supply innovative metal packaging solutions and are the largest supplier of aerosol cans and food cans in Australasia. Our products play a key role in differentiating our customers' products and bringing value and quality to the consumer.

We currently have a great opportunity based in our Milperra, Sydney NSW operations for experienced Can Makers preferably that specialise in 3-peice Aerosol metal Cans. This is an exciting opportunity to join an employer of choice in the area and secure a long-term career.

The focus of the role will be to set up and operate Aerosol Can making equipment and the entire Can making line to the Palletiser.

Interpret 'metal Can' design specifications, and drawings to determine job criteria and materials, method and sequence of operations, and machine settings

Set-up the Can making line and equipment to aerosol Can design specification requirements.

Maintenance and changeovers of the equipment and process line to Can design specifications.

Ensuring raw materials such as tinplate, components, copper wire and chemicals are available accessible and are correct according to the BOM.

Marking out, checking material sizes and reference points against specifications using templates, gauges and other measuring instruments.

Perform line clearance process between change overs

Inspection of final products quality for welding, seaming, contamination, scratches, dents and double seam conformance to specifications Inspection of print decorative work of the 3 Piece Metal Can.

Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines.

Usage of general hand tools where required

General planned engineering maintenance and repair of equipment and process. Operation of basic workshop engineering equipment

Understanding of plant, equipment and process electronics and basic electrical componentry. Assemble and disassemble machines and equipment.

What you will bring to the team:

Excellent mechanical aptitude and previous Can Making experience.

Be familiar with working to good quality systems ISO 90001, HACCP, GMP as well as OH&S, have exceptional attention to detail and be quality focused, have a proven track record of continuous improvement, a team first and hands on approach with the ability to lead, motivate, empower, coach and develop other staff communication, interpersonal, problem solving skills high level of energy, determination and a focus on results and making things happen.

Roster & Rates of Pay

• Assigned shift rosters patterns and rates of pay are in accordance with the Enterprise Agreement.
• Annual salary in range in accord of $75,000 to $95,000 per annum.
• The incumber must also be prepared to work a reasonable amount of overtime.
