We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Youth Project Officer to lead the drop-in service at Altone Youth Centre, supporting young people aged 11–25. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team and shape a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging space for local young people.

Key Responsibilities
Drop-in Program Leadership
- Lead Youth Worker for a drop-in program for the 12-18 age group
- Plan and facilitate meaningful and engaging term-based activities (e.g., cooking, art, life skills) aligned with program goals and funding outcomes
- Build strong, trusting relationships with young people through active and targeted engagement
- Supervise participants and manage group dynamics to maintain a safe and inclusive environment
- Lead a small team of youth workers, providing support and debriefs
- Set up and pack down the drop-in space each day
- Design and deliver targeted drop-in sessions for the 18–25 age group, including support with advocacy, resume building, life skills and housing support
Program & Project Development
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate targeted structured activities that respond to the young people's interests and community needs
- Maintain positive community networks to coordinate engaging and informative sessions for young people during drop-in
- Coordinate and run school holiday programs in line with young people's interests and community needs
- Record and track service data and conduct regular participant feedback for ongoing service evaluation and reporting requirements
What you'll bring
- Qualification in Youth Work, Community Services, or a related field
- Strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by young people accessing a drop-in service
- Skilled in group facilitation, mentoring and program delivery, with the ability to develop a wide range of youth-focused activities
- Proven leadership skills and ability to support and supervise a small team
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to maintain clear and accurate records
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders and service providers
