Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is the major health provider in the Central Hume region with an extensive range of acute, sub-acute, aged care and community services.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced palliative care nurse to join the Community Palliative Care Service at NHW.

The primary role of the Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is to act as a senior clinician within the context of the multi-disciplinary team, across the Rural City of Wangaratta and Alpine Shire. The CNC will provide a clinical resource and clinical advisory / development role, they will undertake related projects, research and development activities specific to palliative care. In addition, they will ensure a holistic palliative care service is provided to clients, carers/families in the community, hospitals and other care settings of the clients choice.

  • Wangaratta has a population of approximately 30,000 and our catchment serves a community of around throughout the northeast.
  • An easy 2 ½ hours drive on the Hume freeway from Melbourne and less than an hour to Albury airport with direct flights to most of the large Australian cities.
