  • We are looking for an Assessment Specialist who will be an integral member of the Clinical and Quality Operations Support team
  • This is a 2–3-year maximum term contract
  • Based in either Melbourne or Brisbane

The Assessment Specialist will work as an integral member of the Clinical and Quality Operations Support team to support accreditation and assessment readiness and compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards across Homes and Services.

How you will make an impact as an Assessment Specialist

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating Regis' Accreditation Preparedness Review program, that is, internal reviews that are conducted prior to a Home entering its accreditation window to review compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards and to support identification and rectification of risk
  • Coordinating other audits and reviews that are required to support readiness and compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Ensuring Regis has a robust remediation framework in place for high risk and non-compliant homes/services
  • Conducting reviews and audits
  • Ensuring robust systems are in place across Homes and Services to support the successful organisation of assessment visits by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (for example, assessor portal, appropriate documentation systems are in place etc.)
  • Providing advice, coaching, education and training to support assessment readiness and compliance
  • As Regis' subject matter expert, keeping abreast of emerging trends in relation to accreditation and assessment and ensuring Regis' systems remain proactive, agile and best practice

Success in this role will be built upon strong relationships with all stakeholders, including the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC).

What you will bring to the role

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration (no conditions)
  • At least 5 years senior leadership experience within the aged care setting
  • Highly skilled expertise in the Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Highly developed understanding of accreditation and assessment systems and processes within the Aged Care setting
  • Proven ability to collect and analyse data, report on findings and develop recommendations for improvement
  • Understanding of the legislative, regulatory and medico-legal related requirements applicable to aged care
  • Proven success in project management with the ability to –
  • develop, implement and evaluate strategies for achieving goals
  • lead change in a complex environment
  • manage competing priorities and respond to emerging needs
  • build the capacity of others to embrace the principles of effective quality management
  • Ability to provide staff education and training programs that promote organisational capability for best practice quality management
  • Ability to be self-directed and maintain progress in multiple activities at the same time, having strong organisational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to distil information and effectively communicate in writing and verbal to stakeholders to influence change
  • Commitment to privacy and confidentiality at all times
  • Demonstrated experience engaging, communicating and managing relationships with a diversity of stakeholders across a national organisation and within a matrix environment
  • Advanced computer skills including programs in the Microsoft Office Suite environment
