About the Role

We are seeking an experienced full-time Senior Structural Design Engineer based out of our Brisbane office.

Role Requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree with recognition by Engineers Australia
  • RPEQ/CP Eng certification is preferred.
  • minimum of 5-10 years' experience working as a design engineer on industrial/mining/ process plant projects.
  • Sound understanding of construction principles and methods (steel and concrete).
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards.
  • Proficiency in the use of Space Gass for general structural analysis.
  • Ability to undertake hand calculations from first principles.
  • Ability to deliver quality design calculation reports.
  • Ability to draft eloquent technical reports.
  • Ability to work on more than one project concurrently in an efficient manner.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • Team player, experienced with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Current Right to Work in Australia (i.e. permanent resident or citizen of Australia).
  • Willing to work on site for short periods (1-5 days typically) for purposes of technical inspections.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Structural analysis and design of both structural steel and concrete structures typically found in the industrial/mining/ process plant environment.
  • Prepare thorough calculation reports to document your designs.
  • Prepare design sketches for purposes of instructing the drafting team.
  • Conduct comprehensive on-site structural condition audits to assess asset integrity and compliance.
  • Prepare thorough engineering reports to document audit findings and provide actionable recommendations to suit.
  • Liaison with other engineers, draftspersons, and a diverse range of Clients.
