Early Childhood Teacher

A wonderful opportunity is available at Concord West Rhodes Preschool, a community based Not-For-Profit preschool, with paid school term breaks in line with NSW Department of Education school terms.

The position is in our 2 day program - Monday & Tuesday 8.00am to 4.00pm, working with 3-5 year old children, most being 4 years of age. This position is a permanent part time role, with the opportunity for relief work throughout the reminder of the week - due to start in Term th January).

To be considered for this position, applicants must have the following:

• Work rights to enable you to work in Australia
• An Early Childhood Degree in Teaching from a University recognized by ACECQ
• Experience working in an early childhood setting
• Effective techniques in the cycle of planning, summative assessment & transition to school statements.
• Values and contributes strongly to a collaborative team approach and demonstrates initiative.
• Is able to establish & maintain positive & professional child, family & educator relationships.
• Is passionate about nature pedagogy, has strong values for children's autonomy and strives in their daily practices to support children in positive social and emotional well being, based on their stage of development, interest and curiosities.
• Leadership qualities, motivated, has initiative, with a strong ambition to model & contribute to education standards of excellence, have a passion or continued learning, being responsive to new ideas and 'think outside the box'.
• Has a good knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, Quality Standards and Regulations.
• A current NSW Employee Working with Children Check and Police Clearance.
• Current First Aid/Anaphylaxis/Asthma certificate
• Completed current training in child protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children.

Preferable for this position

• Experience and interest in leadership role eg. room leader, responsible person and second in charge.
• Knowledge and skill in supporting children from diverse backgrounds, abilities and with experience in inclusive practices.
