Position Overview

As a Plumbing Estimator / Scheduler, you will play a vital role in the success of Superior Plumbing Drainage & Gas. You'll be responsible for preparing accurate, timely estimates, coordinating schedules, and ensuring seamless communication between clients and our service teams. Your expertise will help drive project efficiency, customer satisfaction, and business growth. This position will require some time spent onsite and visits to site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver detailed cost estimates for residential, commercial, and subdivision plumbing, drainage, and gas works - drawing from historical data, materials, labour, and supplier pricing.
  • Schedule and coordinate plumbing and gas jobs across the Perth metro area, ensuring assignments align with team capacity and client expectations.
  • Liaise directly with clients to gather project details, explain scope and pricing clearly, and answer questions.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with field teams to manage project timing, availability, and resource requirements.
  • Track estimate status and schedule bookings, capturing milestones and ensuring bids are completed on time.
  • Monitor supplier quotes and maintain up-to-date pricing information in estimating systems.
  • Procurement of materials as required for ongoing projects
  • Assist with tender submissions and manage documentation for strata subdivisions, Water Corporation cut-ins, sewer and water main extensions, and other specialised projects.
  • Regularly review and refine estimating processes, driving accuracy and continual improvement.

About You

  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in construction - preferably within the plumbing industry with experience in estimation or project scheduling.
  • Australian work rights are required for this position.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail in cost estimation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and tradespeople.
  • Organised, proactive and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable using scheduling and estimating software - or keen to quickly grow these capabilities. Previous experience with Simpro and Groundplan ideal but not essential.
  • Background in plumbing or construction is highly advantageous.
  • Based in or near Perth, WA, with the flexibility to visit job sites or attend in-person meetings as needed.
