About the role:

The Senior Adviser and Coordinator is a key role within the Health Service Performance Leadership Branch, providing high-level administrative and coordination support to the Executive Director. The position requires strong stakeholder management skills to build productive relationships to support branch operations.

The role is responsible for coordinating and managing the delivery of branch submissions, briefings, and responses to corporate and government requirements, including a broad range of reports and business monitoring activities. It also manages ministerial, parliamentary and divisional executive functions and processes on behalf of the branch. With the ability to work at pace, the Senior Adviser will actively manage emerging issues and support the Executive Director in progressing priority matters.

This position offers the opportunity to demonstrate and develop a broad set of public sector leadership skills, including political sensitivity and a focus on driving continuous performance across the branch.

About you:

Can you Demonstrate the following?

  • Coordinate branch submissions, briefings and responses to corporate and government requirements in line with departmental and divisional priorities.
  • Manage and support ministerial, parliamentary and divisional executive functions and processes on behalf of the branch.
  • Initiates and maintains relationships with peer and senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Proactively build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to understand their needs, develop options, and respond accordingly, ensuring that issues are pro-actively addressed
  • Negotiates with stakeholders and peers with the object of gaining co-operation and meeting timelines for delivery of project, service or advice

Qualifications

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in health, accounting, commerce, economics, political science, public administration or public policy. Post tertiary qualification in a relevant field would be advantageous.
