The Role
As a
Principal Forensic Examiner,
you'll play a critical role in supporting police investigations and judicial processes across the Northern Territory. You will be responsible for identifying, analysing, and interpreting fingerprint evidence, and providing expert opinion and forensic reports to investigators and the courts.
You'll attend crime and incident scenes, process exhibits, across the
Northern Territory; working weekends, extended hours, and respond to callouts as required.
About you
You're passionate about using science to support
justice and community safety:
To be successful you will have:
- Australian Forensic Science Assessment Body (AFSAB) or equivalent recognised fingerprint expertise.
- Practical experience in forensic fingerprint evidence recovery and presentation of expert evidence.
- Competency in the NAFIS system or similar AFIS operating system.
- Proven ability to manage workloads and produce case files with high level of attention to detail.
- Physical ability and fitness to perform scene examinations in challenging environments.
Appointment at the Professional 3 level is subject to a tertiary qualification (Degree or higher) in science or in a field relevant to Forensic Investigation.
