About the Role
The Design Draftsperson is responsible for producing detailed and accurate drawings for various projects, based on specifications provided by the Senior Drafter. This role focuses on translating project requirements into high-quality outputs, ensuring compliance with client specifications, industry standards, and project timelines. The Drafter plays an important role in supporting the overall success of projects by delivering precise and timely drafting work.
Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years of drafting experience to be considered for this position.
Experience in the surveying industry is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
1. Planning and Preparation
- Review project requirements and specifications provided by the Senior Drafter or Project Manager to understand the scope and objectives of each task.
- Assist in setting up project files, templates, and standards to ensure consistency and quality across all drafting outputs.
- Organise and prepare for each drafting project, ensuring clarity on specifications and required deliverables.
2. Drafting and Output Production
- Produce detailed and accurate drawings according to project specifications, using drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Intermediate level proficiency in AutoCAD is required to perform the technical aspects of this role effectively.
- Ensure all drafting outputs meet quality standards, including accuracy in dimensions, scale, and adherence to industry norms.
- Make revisions and updates to drawings based on feedback from the Senior Drafter, Project Manager, or client.
3. Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Perform basic quality checks on all drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with project standards before submission for review.
- Follow company quality control procedures to maintain high standards in all drafting deliverables.
- Ensure that drawings are consistent with industry standards and comply with client and regulatory requirements.
4. Data and File Management
- Organise and store drawings and project files systematically, following company protocols for file management and version control.
- Ensure easy access and retrieval of files for team members and maintain accurate records of all drafting outputs.
- Update project files as needed to reflect changes and revisions, ensuring all versions are properly documented.
5. Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Drafter and project team to ensure alignment on project objectives and timelines.
- Communicate any challenges or questions about project requirements to the Senior Drafter for clarification and guidance.
- Work with other drafters and project members to ensure consistency in outputs across the team and adherence to project goals.
