Senior Production Distiller

Archie Rose Distilling Co. was founded in Rosebery, Sydney in 2014 with an aim to re-ignite and lead Australia's rich history in distilling, driven by four values including innovation, quality, authenticity and education. Now proudly Australia's most highly awarded distillery we produce a diverse range of whiskies, gins, vodkas and rums, as well as one-off collaborations and limited releases.

Our industry leading production team is looking to take on a Senior Production Distiller. To be successful in this role, the applicant will be a driven and committed professional with at least two years food or beverage manufacturing experience preferably with supervisory or managerial experience. You will have a strong working knowledge of brewing, fermentation, maturation and/or distilling best practice.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Management of brewing, milling, grain handling, fermentation, distillation, blending and the creation of numerous spirit styles including whisky, gin, rum and vodka.
  • Management of cask filling, warehousing and disgorging
  • Leadership of team including rostering and task delegation
  • Taking and maintaining precise records of production activities
  • Contribution to the continual improvement of processes and products (quality, efficiency and cost of goods)
  • Maintenance and improvement of quality systems and safe work processes including HACCP and OH&S procedures

What we are looking for:

  • Formal qualifications in distilling, brewing, winemaking or engineering
  • Competence with automated production systems such as SCADA (highly regarded but not essential)
  • Drive to continually improve skills and knowledge
  • Honed sensory analysis skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to learn new tasks quickly
  • Availability to work various shifts including weekends, nights and public holidays
