We're looking for a reliable, switched-on Kitchen Lead to join our food truck team.
If you can cook, move fast, and keep a kitchen running smooth under pressure — we want you.
This role is perfect for someone who has worked as a cook, line cook, grill hand, or kitchen hand and wants to step up into a leadership position.
About the Role
You'll be the person who opens the truck, runs the kitchen during service, and helps maintain high standards every night.
This is a hands-on cooking role — you'll be on the grill making burgers, prepping daily ingredients, and keeping the team moving.
Shifts: Wednesday–Sunday (Starting times will vary from 4pm-5:30pm to 12am)
Responsibilities
Prep & Setup
- Prep vegetables
- Stock and organise the service line
- Turn on equipment and complete opening checks
- Set up seating and general service area
Cooking & Service
- Grill and assemble burgers to a consistent standard
- Coordinate timing with other staff during busy service
- Restock the line throughout the night
- Manage flow and maintain speed and quality
- Keep the workspace clean and organised at all times
Leadership
- Direct and support the junior crew member
- Uphold food safety and hygiene standards
- Communicate clearly and professionally
- Maintain portion control and reduce waste
Close
- Full end-of-night clean-down
- Shut down equipment safely
- Pack away stock and secure the truck
What We're Looking For
- Experience in a fast-paced kitchen (burgers, grills, takeaway, food trucks, or similar)
- Someone reliable, punctual, and consistent
- Able to work clean, fast, and follow systems
- Positive attitude — no egos, no dramas
- Takes pride in doing things properly
- Can handle responsibility and lead by example
