Our client, a leading provider of smart building technology, IoT, and ICT infrastructure solutions has a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced ICT professional with 3-4 years experience to join their growing team
This role is available in Melbourne and is both office and site based.
The Role
As an ICT Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining ICT systems, networks, and communication infrastructure. You will be part of a dynamic team delivering innovative solutions whilst ensuring system security, reliability, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain ICT systems, including servers, networking hardware, and communication systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve ICT and network-related issues promptly.
- Manage system security, backups, and data integrity processes.
- Conduct site visits for installations, diagnostics, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand and meet project requirements.
About You
We are looking for an ICT professional who is technically skilled, highly organized, and proactive.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- 3-4 years industry experience in ICT engineering or a related role.
- Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field
- Proficiency in configuring and managing ICT infrastructure, including servers, routers, switches, and communication systems.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, VLAN, and DNS.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Valid Australian driver's license (mandatory for site-based work).
Technical Must-Haves:
- Hands-on experience with ICT and networking equipment (routers, switches, and servers).
- Knowledge of wireless networking standards and communication technologies.
- Familiarity with ICT security best practices and implementation.
- Understanding of cabling systems, including fiber and copper.
- Ability to document and manage ICT systems effectively.
A Perfect Fit For this Role:
- Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Experience with VoIP systems and telecommunication infrastructure.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
- Experience using ICT monitoring and management tools.
