About the Role

If you're passionate about the outdoors and have a commercial eye for exceptional gear, this is your chance to play a pivotal role at Paddy Pallin—Australia's iconic lightweight outdoor retailer. As a Buyer, you'll spearhead the full product lifecycle—from range planning and supplier negotiations to system data management and cross‑team collaboration. You'll also contribute to well-executed product campaigns and sustainable decision‑making across retail and digital channels.

Key Responsibilities

· Create seasonal and ongoing product assortments that align with sales insights and sustainability goals

· Negotiate supplier terms—pricing, delivery, and margins

· Maintain product and supplier records within Pronto Xi or equivalent ERP systems

· Partner with marketing, digital, and retail teams

· Monitor category performance and KPIs, including stock availability and customer feedback

· Participate in product launches, trade shows, and sustainability initiatives

About You

Essential:

· Minimum 3 years of buying or merchandise planning experience, ideally in outdoor, lifestyle, or sporting industries

· Passion for adventure travel, bushwalking, hiking, climbing or trail running

· Excellent negotiation and Excel skills

· Strong commercial awareness and analytical rigour

· Passion for sustainability and ethical retail

· Exceptional communication skills and supplier management

· Ability to prioritise in a fast-paced retail environment

Desirable:

· Familiarity with Pronto Xi or similar ERP platforms
