The Opportunity
Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring onsite safety compliance across all areas of the project. Your responsibilities will include:
- Proactively improving health and safety standards on site
- Administering and implementing the HSE Plan daily on site
- Reviewing subcontractor Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) for quality and compliance
- Conducting regular safety inspections
- Ensuring site compliance with HSE management plans, legislation, regulations, standards, and codes
- Delivering onsite safety training to build HSE competency and compliance
- Responding to HSE issues, including serious incident investigations or subcontractor control matters
- Identifying potential HSE risks and assisting in developing solutions
Requirements
To excel in this role, you will have:
- Certificate IV in OHS
- 3–5 years' experience in a construction HSE role
- Experience in commercial construction, including new build and/or refurbishment projects
- Working knowledge of State WHS legislation
- Ability to apply policies and procedures that meet legislative HSE requirements
- Strong influencing skills and the ability to build trust and networks with onsite teams
- Excellent communication skills
