About the role:

Lawmeeis working with a large packaging company to secure an experienced Employment & Workplace Relations Lawyer on a contract basis.

Commencing as soon as possible, this opportunity is expected to run for up to 6 months, with strong potential to extend or transition into a permanent position.

Some of your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing legal advice on workplace relations matters, including individual and union disputes, contracts, policies, investigations, and performance management.

  • Advising on workplace changes such as restructuring, outsourcing, insourcing, acquisitions, divestments, site moves or closures.

  • Leading enterprise bargaining negotiations and providing strategic advice throughout the process.

  • Managing workplace disputes, including litigation advocacy and briefing external counsel when required.

  • Supporting investigations and advising on discrimination, dismissals, terminations, and conduct issues.

  • Offering guidance on safety, injury management, and workplace policies (e.g., alcohol and drug programs).

  • Drafting, reviewing, and interpreting employment agreements, enterprise agreements, and HR procedures.

Who we're looking for:

We'd like to speak to Lawyers with 3+ years' PAE from leading firms or in-house teams, with strong knowledge of Australian industrial relations, National Employment Standards, and proven experience applying employment conditions and HR policies. Strong communication skills, a collaborative working style, and a proven ability to deliver practical, strategic legal advice across a range of employment law matters are essential.
