About the role

South Eastern Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Assistant Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join our Mental Health Unit team on a part-time or full time basis. Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of high-quality mental healthcare to our patients in Noble Park, Victoria.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting the Nurse Unit Manager in the day-to-day leadership and management of the Mental Health Unit
  • Providing clinical leadership and mentoring to the nursing team to ensure the delivery of safe, evidence-based, and compassionate patient care
  • Participating in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Promoting a positive and collaborative team culture that supports staff wellbeing and professional development
  • Liaising with other healthcare professionals, patients, and their families to coordinate patient care
  • Contributing to the unit's budget management and resource allocation

What we're looking for

  • Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years' experience in mental health nursing
  • Qualification in Mental Health
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a nursing role, with a strong understanding of mental health nursing principles and practices
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficient in the use of clinical information systems and technology
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement
  • Experience in mental health with drug and alcohol experience will be highly regarded
