• Development and consultation of workforce planning and training products that meet industry and policy needs.


• Implementation, promotion and monitoring of strategies that drive improvement of training delivery and monitor resulting impacts.


• Stewardship of intelligence relating to workforce challenges and skill needs.

About the position

The Manager VET Projects and Communications is accountable to the Director Training Products and Quality. This position forms part of the leadership of the company, and will work with the Office of the CEO, other managers and directors, members of the company, Board Directors, the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, NCVER, STAs and the Assurance Body for Training Products.

The Manager VET Projects and Communications leads the company's Implementation, Promotion and Monitoring function, oversees all corporate communications and supports the Training Products team in monitoring, implementing and promoting training packages with Registered Training Organisations. This position is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of projects within the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector, including tracking activities, milestones and managing budgets and associated risks as well as subcontractor management, contract and procurement activities.

The Manager VET Projects and Communications will lead a small team and will build the reputation of the company as a trusted partner. The position will be required to promote and support the vision of the Board, the outcomes of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) Reform program and ensure robust compliance, good governance, fiscal responsibility and adherence to federal requirements. The position is required to build and maintain strong relationships with all staff within the company.

Responsibilities

In partnership with internal stakeholders and external service providers, with the intent of ensuring compliance with relevant legislative, grant and company compliance obligations, the Manager will:


• Lead, plan, manage and monitor VET projects and activity submissions related to the promotion, use and implementation of training packages, including managing risks, budgets and human resources.


• Lead coordinated efforts to promote, implement, and expand adoption of training products by building stakeholder awareness, supporting effective rollout, and boosting engagement and utilisation.


• Promote finalised VET deliverables through engaging, sector-aligned formats that resonate with Public Safety and Government audiences.


• Promote career pathways that demonstrate entry and exit pathways through the development of materials.


• Lead communications for the company including PR and marketing, branding and content development.


• Deliver quality work on time, in line with governance and consultation processes and to the required standard.


• Support and demonstrate the organisational values and the direction and vision of the Board, members, DEWR and Executive.


• Any other reasonable duties as may be required.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential


• Qualification(s) and/or equivalent experience/training relevant to the responsibilities of the position.


• An understanding of the implementation of Training Packages and the VET environment.


• Demonstrated expertise in managing complex projects, budgets and teams.


• Demonstrated expertise in the current VET Reform agenda of the federal government and an understanding of the grant functions and work to be promoted of Jobs and Skills Councils.


• Strong relationship building skills with a solid reputation within Public Safety and Government.


• Demonstrated experience in reporting and working with executive level stakeholders.


• Demonstrated ability to be flexible and responsive to changing priorities.
