Founded in 2004, Firestorm began as a specialist in vehicle fire suppression systems for the mining sector. Following significant growth through government contracts in WA and NSW, Firestorm was acquired by USSC in 2019. This strategic move expanded our capabilities and national footprint. Today, USSC Australia employs over 250 people and continues to grow.
Lyons Airconditioning Services
Established in 1985, Lyons has evolved into a specialist provider of heavy industry air-conditioning and cabin filtration solutions. Servicing the mining, transport, and construction sectors across Western Australia, Lyons is known for its high-quality, tailored systems and expertise in heavy vehicle climate control.
Fire Protection Technologies (FPT)
Headquartered in Melbourne and New Zealand, FPT delivers fire protection solutions for high-risk and specialised environments. Since joining USSC in 2023, FPT has expanded across the Asia-Pacific, offering end-to-end services including system design, technical support, commissioning, and training. Solutions include gaseous, water, foam, and explosion suppression systems, fire detection, and military applications.
QTEC Fire Services
Based in Willawong, QLD, QTEC is a leading Australian manufacturer of AS5062-compliant foam spray fire suppression systems for mobile plant and equipment. Serving industries such as mining, construction, forestry, and defence, QTEC provides design, manufacturing, installation, and expert training for OEMs, dealers, and contractors.

The Role:
The HR Advisor – Regional & National Support plays a dual role in delivering both localised, face-to-face HR support and contributing to broader national HR functions. Based in Kewdale WA, this position provides frontline HR advice and support to employees and managers in the region, while collaborating closely with the national HR team on strategic initiatives, policy implementation, and employee experience projects. This role suits an experienced, hands-on HR generalist with strong interpersonal skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to balance daily operational HR needs with broader strategic support.
Responsibilities:
Local HR Support
· Act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries in Western Australia, ensuring timely, professional, and consistent advice and support.
· Support managers in employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning.
· Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and induction activities for local roles.
· Coordinate HR policies and initiatives face-to-face, including wellbeing, recognition, and learning programs.
· Attend and support local disciplinary, grievance, or performance conversations as required.
National HR Support
· Collaborate with the national HR team on policy development, compliance, diversity and inclusion, engagement, and other strategic HR programs.
· Contribute to national projects, audits, and reporting activities.
· Assist with the coordination and delivery of HR communications, and initiatives across all sites.
· Provide remote HR support to other business units as needed.
Qualifications:
· Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
· years of experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within a multi-site or decentralised environment.
· Proven ability to manage employee relations issues with discretion and professionalism.
· Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, awards, and Fair Work obligations.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both face-to-face and virtual.
· Ability to work independently and manage competing demands.
· Experience supporting national HR projects or initiatives.
· Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Driver's licence and willingness to travel locally and occasionally interstate.
