About Us

We are a small, family-owned technology business in Melbourne that provides industrial companies with production monitoring software and hardware designed to track and improve the efficiency of their machinery. Following the recent passing of our lead developer, we are seeking an experienced full stack developer to help us preserve and understand our existing Linux development environment.

The Role

This is a hands-on, onsite role working directly with our Linux desktop environment. You will:

  • Document and explain the purpose of our development applications in plain language for a non-technical team.
  • Safely save, close, and relaunch existing applications to ensure work is preserved.
  • Locate and secure project files.
  • Map out the current structure to provide a clear foundation for future development.

Responsibilities

  • Work with applications including: MySQL Workbench, Qt Creator, Sublime Merge, Sublime Text/Geany, FileZilla, and Meld.
  • Provide clear, simple explanations of how these tools fit into the broader software development process.
  • Support our team in understanding and safely maintaining the development pc going forward.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Ubuntu Linux and some AWS.
  • Proficiency in: C++, PHP, JavaScript, SQL (MySQL).
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to a non-technical team.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • ABN required (contractor role).
  • Willing to sign a NDA.
  • Onsite only – no remote work.
