The Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Architectural Draftsperson to join our team. The successful candidate will support our architects and senior designers by preparing accurate and detailed drawings and documentation for a range of building projects.
Duties and responsibilities for Architectural Draftsperson
- Prepare architectural drawings including preliminary drawings, working drawings, design specifications; showing plans, elevations, sections, materials, finishes and other aspects such as layouts, drainage, landscaping, lighting, etc, using design software or manually produced design.
- Prepare and maintain related documentations, samples of materials/finishes etc.
- Verify that the designs and documentations are compliant with the relevant regulation and standards such as Building Code, bylaws, Local Environmental Plan, Development Control Plan, etc.
- Assist in preparing submissions to relevant parties such as for Development Applications, Construction Certificates and Complying Development Certificates.
- Liaise with senior architects, engineers, developers, interior designers, suppliers, approving authorities, clients and any other relevant project stakeholders in clarifying designs, requirements and/or project progress.
- Assist in estimating time, labour costs and material costs for quotations.
- Ensure that design plans and specifications are followed by contractors/developers.
- Ensure that project schedules are met.
Position requirement
- Minimum a diploma in architectural drafting/design, or a similar discipline. Higher qualification and/or additional knowledge in relevant fields such as architecture, interior design, or urban planning are beneficial.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Skills required: Design/Drafting, Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, time/project management, knowledge of building regulations and Australian standards, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in heritage, commercial, residential and retail projects is desirable.
- Experience on the North Shore of Sydney will be considered favourably.
- The position if office based.
